ISCD X-Cal Tool

Dear Dr Shepherd, I am working with the [ISCD Cross-Calibration Tool] calculator and have a question about your notation #8 on the summary page ("You cannot directly compare your new system values to the previous scan printouts. Previous scan values MUST be calibrated to the new system before using the GLSC.") I do not understand what I am to do regarding this instruction. Thanks for your help and clarification. ET, DO

Apply the cross cal relationship then use GLSC
Dear ET,
This comment means that you have to convert the BMD values from your previous system over to the new system's calibration. This is the actual task of cross calibration. The typical way this is done is by uploading the old system's database to the new system after applying the cross-calibration relationship. This is typically done by your field service rep for the new system.
1. Do the study.
2. Upload your previous system's database to your new system using the conversion equations shown in the "Cross Calibration Results" Box for each ROI (stating at Cell A32).
3. Use the GLSC to determine if the difference is significant between the previous and new system.
Good luck and I hope this clarifies things.
